I forgot to mention two things:

There's a postgres version check in the first time configuration wizard, that
needs to be ported to mysql.

Finally, the first screen of the configuration wizard needs to be modified to
allow the user to select the database type.

And the website needs to be updated with instructions for installing using
mysql. Plenty of pages on the website and the wiki needs to be updated to
reflect that we support mysql. README needs to be updated too. But these are
trivial, don't worry about them.
