Arnaldo was born on March 12th, 1908.  Arnaldo's father was Joaquim (Tio Sinhô) da Fonseca Rodrigues and his mother was Luiza Anunciada Cunha Rodrigues.  His paternal grandparents were José Antônio Rodrigues Filho and Thereza Barbosa da Fonseca.  He is the youngest of six children.  He had two brothers and three sisters, named Alberico, Alvaro, Maria Euphrasia, Maria Anunciada and Maria Judith.
