Joaquim, known as Tio Sinhô, was born on April 2nd, 1869.  Tio Sinhô's father was José Antônio Rodrigues Filho and his mother was Thereza Barbosa da Fonseca.  His maternal grandparents were Joaquim Soares da Fonseca and Thereza Leopoldina de Castro Barbosa.  He was the second of eight children.  He had four brothers and three sisters, named Tio Juca, Alfredo, Afonso, José Arthur, Tia Nenêm, Vovó Maroca and Madrinha.  He died at the age of 84 on January 10th, 1954.
