Aracy's father is Alfredo da Fonseca Rodrigues and her mother is Luiza de Almeida.  Her paternal grandparents were José Antônio Rodrigues Filho and Thereza Barbosa da Fonseca.  She is the fourth of nine children.  She has four brothers and four sisters, named José Antônio, Heraldo, Gastao, Nestor, Luiza, Universina, Alice and Alfredo.
