Hilda, known as Hildinha, was born in 1939.  Hildinha's father was Benito dos Reis and her mother was Maria Antônia dos Santos Silveira.  Her paternal grandparents are Venancio dos Reis and Maria Correia; her maternal grandparents were Coronel? José (Pai Velho) Alves da Silveira and Amália (Mãe Velha) dos Santos.  She is the eleventh of nineteen children.  She had six brothers and twelve sisters, named Elpídio, Jorge, Abilio, Homero, Nelson, Alcides, Amélia, Filomena, Judith, Nair, Tia Tidinha, Guiiomar, Maria, Neca, Maria Amalia, Zulmira, Elenice and Nilzinha.
